Like countless others, VLC has become my swiss army knife for all things media. Overtime, it has allowed me to remove multiple other apps. Recently, I started using it instead of a dedicated internet radio app in my iphone. I have a few small usability suggestions to this excellent app for the network streaming use case.
it would be nice to move the "private playback" and "scan for subtitles" switches to a section of the settings page. It is a minor gripe, but between these switches, the title section and the open address dialog, 50 percent of the screen is taken up reducing the viewable space available for saved streams.
having at least the option to have a simple STOP rather than just a PAUSE button for network streams . I've noticed on occasion a behavior where it appears VLC is still trying to make network connections even when I have paused a station and this causes battery drain.
adding the ability to easily customize the order of the stream list by dragging items.
an option to select what screen the app starts up in when opened. For example in my case, I would like the app to always start on the network stream page, since I am using that 90 percent of the time now - someone else my want it to open in "all files" as it currently does, or something else.
Thanks for all the work your team puts into VLC for IOS! It is definitely one of the best apps for the platform
