VLC 3.0.4 Hangs after opening

VLC 3.0.4 hangs after opening.

specifically i have found out that it is with WTV files only. Earlier version does not hang. Rincewind is fine. 2.1.0

troubleshooting page unfortunately does not help

every other version apart form this latest one has been fine so it should be fairly straightforward i would have thought to fix.

Installed version 3.0.3 on top of 2.1.0 - same settings : all ok.

I don't think so. I have now the latest but last version and all is ok.
