XBOX One S VLC video's won't play sound?

I have used vlc for a long time instead of media player on my xbox.

Yesterday i had a weird problem. Sound would not play from any video. If i hit the fast forward button, i could hear little bits of the sound.

If i used media player my movies played fine.

I uninstalled vlc and reinstalled.
I powered off the xbox and powered it back on.
Nothing seemed to work.
ANy suggestions?

It happens with all my mp4 video files that have always played fine. As I previously stated I have used vlc on my xbox 1 for about a year and a half.

What's the VLC app version?

Can you upload your video on some cloud service and share it here so I can try to reproduce and fix your issue?

VLC version up to date (sorry I don't know how to check the version of VLC)

I can put the video somewhere but It may need sometime (I may deal with that tomorrow if needed)

Video is played from a NAS (when accessible)

I'm on 10.0.17134.3036 and cannot reproduce the issue, sound is fine here.
Video played with upnp and headphones plugged into wireless controller.

I do have the same issue since a week ago.
Xbox one S updated.
It applies to any video file.

Version of vlc 3.1.0.70 - play over WD Mycloud - connected to router so via lan - I see it in the app as "smb" device - worked fine and now only some video files go with sound.

I'd say two months back - not sure really - I've ignored it at first when it happened to some videos, but then I've noticed it happens for most of the videos.

i'm having the same problem.. Just started today... no Idea.. Reinstall and shutdown Xbox didn't resolve either.. No Idea. The Same videos used do work fine until today earlier.

I just bought a new Xbox one in December 2018, it updated its software and I just installed VLC latest version from xbox shop yesterday, 28 Dec 2018. The Xbox is on LAN via wifi and connects to my PC (windows 10 up to date). VLC will find files on my hard drive using smb. 100% of files play but only about ~2% with sound. The files are a mix of MP4, AVI, MKV, etc; age spread over years (2005-2017). A bit disappointed when VLC on the PC (latest) will run all with sound. VLC is not muted.
Any ideas why latest everything won't work on vast majority of files?

I am having the same issue. This isnt a file issue as I have been streaming from my WD Mycloud for a couple of years now with no issue but today the sound stopped working.

Hello,
I have same issue: sound track is not playing on some videos on xbox vlc app. Audio codec mp3, 48kHz, 32 bits, 128kbit/s
Same videos are working fine on PC version.
Any idea how to resolve this ?
