VLC writes incorrect duration when converting to .webm format

Postby narutobaka » 03 Aug 2018 15:15

Hi,

I try to convert a .mp4 video file recorded with (windows + G) windows 10 feature to .webm format.

For my test I take a small file of 30 seconds.
No error during encodage ( I just notice an alert in parameter for youtube HD, missing demultiplexer, don't know if it has any insidence ?)
But duration of the .webm output files indicate more than one hour.
I can play the .webm output files in VLC but timeline is broken.

I test .Ogg encodage and all work fine.

What did I miss with .webm encodage?

Hi everyone,

are there any solutions yet? I do have the same issue here. I converted a 2:22 min AVI uncompressed to a WebM-format and the timetrack was totally buggy afterwards. I could not scratch time and the displayed length didn't match with the original length (original: 2:22min - converted:59min!?)

Thanks in advance, chrispi
