Continue Playback Timeframe

Postby Swesent » 18 Aug 2018 08:59

When I'm being asked, at the start of a video, if I want to resume playback from where I left off - I would like just a few more seconds to react.

I have been going through the advanced VLC-settings meticulously, as well as with the help of Google, but the only setting I can find, relating to the resume feature, is whether or not I want to have the option presented. Maybe there is a time setting illogically separated from said option somewhere that I've missed, but I highly doubt it. Maybe a setting that could be added with a future update? Let the user choose how many seconds they want the resume question displayed.

Thanks for any eventual help or feedback on this!

I don't think that's possible currently. Maybe open a feature request if it does not exist already? https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/

This is a terrible "feature", what precisely is the point of harassing the user into making a hurried decision within an imposed timeframe? Is there any good reason not to have the options displayed until the user decides, in their own good time, how they would like to proceed? SCRAP THE TIMER!
