Chromecast stops playing after lock device (iOS)

With new version 3.1.0 I can cast perfect the video to my Chromecast, but if I lock my iOS device or minimize the app, after a few seconds the Chromecast stops playing, if the application remains on screen the stream never stop, there's anything I can configure or this is a normal behaviour?

No crash, for some streams when come back still the same screen with the TV icon and title "Chromecast connected", there's no video playing.
For other streams the video stops on app and return to previous screen.

Just to be sure, when you say it stop playing is it perhaps pausing?
Could you please check if "Audio Playback in background" is activated in the settings?

Hey, I mean stop, the Chromecast image on TV shows a blue Chromecast icon, that is usual when the stream is stopped.

Audio playback is activated in settings.

I have the same issue, only it is with flac files cast to my Chromecast Audio. Files quit playing sometime in the last minute, and if I lock the screen it never gets to the next audio file.

New ipad with the latest version of VLC. And yes "audio playback in the background " is on.

Just updated to the latest iOS version 3.1.1 and this problem still exists, casting to Chromecast Audio stops after a certain amount of time (if the song is long) or when switching to the next track after I close the device protector. Have tried flac and mp3 files, all with the same issue.
I have noticed that the controls also do not work, the scrubbing bar at the top does not affect the sound, nor does swiping move the file ahead 30 secs. When playing the same file through the iPad speakers these controls DO work. Controls not working is not the main issue I would like to see get corrected, just thought it might help in the troubleshooting. Thanks.

I'm having similar issues. Casting via VLC 3.1.1 (309) to Chromecast stops a few seconds after locking phone or minimizing app. When i reopen I get the following error...

Performance warning... Casting video requires conversion... Can drain battery...

I would like to know if conversion of file is why it stops casting. If so, which file types don't require conversion? If it's not the problem, what is?

I mentioned about Chromecast in another thread as it’s not playing at all on my TV via VLC. It states on my iPad that I’m connected on my TV but no picture on my TV. Don’t know whether it’s the same problem as above, as I’m not very tennical with iPad’s or Computers.

Also occasionly Chromecast works on my TV screen but disappears from my TV screen after1-2 minutes approx. Other times nothing happens when trying to connect to the TV, although saying on my iPad Chromecast connected, but nothing on my TV.
