WebVTT Subtitles are displayed multiple times

Hi, I have an MKV file with WebVTT subtitles. Now I have the effect that these subtitles are sometimes displayed multiple times during playback. However, not always and not all of them. I also noticed that a subtitle appears once more when I rewind and replay the scene with the subtitle. So when looking at the first one for example twice, after a short rewind then three times and after a second rewind four times.
The WebVTT subtitles are correct because I created the vtt file myself (with a program, but a look into the file reveals that it is correct). I added the vtt file to the MKV file with MKVToolNix.
I was able to reproduce the error under macOS as well as under Windows.

Note: I cannot upload the video file or the subtitle file because it is copyrighted material as it is a copy of a DVD. Before one asks: In Germany it is permitted for purely private purposes to copy copyrighted material.
However, I have attached a screenshot in which you can see the error clearly. The subtitle (two lines) is displayed three times.

I tested it with the latest nightly build and can't reproduce the error anymore. It seems fixed.
