"Extension not responding. Kill the process" dialogue box is appearing

I used looping( loop being from 0 to vlc.input.item():duration() ) rather than add_subtitles function to link the subtitles with the video. It is somewhat wokring, the subtitles are being displayed but a dialogue box is appearing saying - Extension "Myplugin.lua" is not responding. Click yes to kill the extension. i don't know how to resolve this, please can anyone from the community or someone with this knowledge help me here?
