VLC-WinRT Direct Download option

Hi,

I was surprised to see that there is no direct download link available for the WinRT version of VLC like the regular version. I would like to use the WinRT version of VLC, but I deleted the MS store so I cannot use the store link.

There are many people who choose to delete the MS Store or who use an edition of windows without the store (like LTSB) and therefore would also need an alternative download location.

Is there a direct download link hidden somewhere? Can someone please add a videolan.org -hosted download location for the WinRT version?

Sorry, it's too annoying to do, because you need the key, the certificate and so on...

Try https://get.videolan.org/vlc-winrt/2.5.4/ and see if that works.

It's the same situation for me. How do I install the application from those files?

I have a Surface 2 with windows RT 8.1 and I can run unsigned programs (jailbreak).

FYI, Windows 8.1 is not running the same VLC app than Windows 10.

I have tried to download it from the link, but the button does not appear to download it or redirect to the store (from surface 2).

Is it possible to provide the appx file to install it from Powershell?

Have you searched for it from an rt device? If I look inside the store from the Surface 2, VLC does not appear..

OK, now if it appears in the search (in preferences, uncheck the option "make it easier to find apps in my preferred languages"). The problem is when I install the following error appears (:



This problem occurs with some applications that I try to download after making that change.

As? in the details section only appears:

Supported processors:
x86 x64 ARM

nothing else...
If it appears in the store searching from the Surface 2, I understand that only the applications compatible with the system appear ...
