How to output Video to TV

I am trying to play an XviD movie on my laptop but I would like to output it to TV.
any Idea's how to set up the output please??
I have set TV output on my laptop using Nvdia drivers.

video->video device

change to screen 2 when you go to fullscreen it should come up on you TV

I have tried that but it does not take the whole size of the movie even on full screen.

does the movie have black borders above and under?
try the crop filter
