Hello all, my first post, long time VLC user.
Hope someone can help, also hope I can explain this issue.
I have a program on my Mac called AVC Browser (my iMac has a wired connection to the back of my Verizon DVR) The AVC Browser reads this, then opens VLC Player so I can watch TV on my Mac - now certain channels would never appear like Turner Network channel (CNN, TBS, TNT, etc) or paid cable channels and that was fine.
I would be able to record clips in .TS format for personal use, or maybe to post to social media.
I've been using this setup for years without a problem. Once I updated to the latest 3.0.3 VLC, it seems this just doesn't work anymore. Not sure why, I did not change any settings.
Downgrading back to 3.0.2 did not fix the problem.
My question is, does the new version of VLC have some new configuration to make this work again? Did it remove a special codec that disabled the TV stream?
I'm just not sure what happened.
Below is a screencap of the setup. This exact screen before would have what is on my TV on my Mac, (I do hear extremely short split second audio clips..choppy and random and no video)
Basically just shows the playlist, the UDP network setting..and that's about it. I'm kind of at a loss now.
It might be an old primitive setup, but at least it worked.
Thanks in advance!
AC
