ISO DVDs and Android

Postby gibraltar » 27 Apr 2018 14:03

Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 on oficial Android 7.
I've been trying to play my DVD ISOs using VLC but the experience is really bad. I can open the file and access the DVD menu but some seconds into it the tablet starts to get really slow. I can't get VLC to react to touch input. Some times I can get to the movie but the same thing happens, after some seconds VLC becomes unresponsive to touch. Movie continues to play, slow, but I can't get response from touch so can't change áudio alnguages or configure subtitles.

Any help will be apreciated.

This should be fixed starting version 3.0.6.
Next update will roll out in the next few days.

Not wishing to hijack this thread, but will the non-functioning menu item selection in ISOs also be fixed?

Hi,

Update: I installed 3.0.9 (beta from store) and the DVD ISOs play nice now. Haven't tested long enough, but what a diference: Smooth vídeo playback.
The menu selection does not seem to be working has expected; have to press a couple of times for VLC to register the touch on a menu item (selection subtitles or chapters ou anything else).

I have been using vlc for years on macs and pcs. I recently got a Chromebook and am able to get DVD files to show up in my files, but am unable to open with vlc. I see others are able to and am wondering if I am just totally missing a menu. Please help.
Thanks

Hack for DVD menus.

Concerning Chrome OS, it's the very same app than on Android devices. it should work.

Hack for DVD menus.
Ok, how do we "hack" it exactly?
