Unable to delete artists from the Artists page in Audio - Galaxy S8

I use VLC on my S8 because it's the most consistent media player for scrobbling to last.fm. However there is one very annoying bug. When I delete the music from an artist, their thumbnail and listing still shows up in the "Artists" page in audio. With every other player I've used, when I delete the files, the listing for that artist goes away as well. I have a whole bunch of artist listings on the page that don't even have any music on the phone. This doesn't seem like it's specific to a certain artist, all music I add seems to have this issue.
