VLC 3.0.0 Recording Problem

There has been a post by passegua pertaining to the fact that VLC 3.0.0 (Windows 7) won't record. The post offers a solution: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=142645
Problem: On my machine, Windows Defender is deactivated due to company regulations. VLC still doesn't record. What am I doing wrong?

To help you, we need messages, to completely understand what your problems is.
To fix this, please be sure before you start the playback to:
  1. Open: Tools -> Messages.
  2. Set Verbosity to 2
  3. Start playback to reproduce your issue
  4. Save text in a file or copy into clipboard
  5. Then paste the full resulting log here between [​code]and[​/code] (or use Pastebin.com if it's too long)
Also don't forget to name your Operating System and provide the VLC media player version.

* First read troubleshooting guide VSG:Main
* Always provide verbose LOGS ! (command line or from gui)
* Always check your issue against a developer build from Nightly Build of VLC
* Tell us when your problem is solved !

Hello,

if I record a Video over the local Network from a Universal Plug'n'Play Device with the VLC-Version 3.0.1 (64-Bit) I get no Video-Copy on my Windows 10 PC.
The Record-Directory is still empty.

Playing the same Video from the same UPnP-Source works fine.

I don't understand why you're trying to record on a remote server
:!: If you want your problem to be solved :
* First read troubleshooting guide VSG:Main
* Always provide verbose LOGS ! (command line or from gui)
* Always check your issue against a developer build from Nightly Build of VLC
* Tell us when your problem is solved !

Is that the answer to my problem or to #thweiss's problem? To me, this seem to be two different situations and architectures.
