BUG: VLC 2.2.8 - "Genre" not read from 99% of my audio files.

Postby strepto » 15 Feb 2018 09:33

Hi,

I have a huge collection of .aif/.aiff files with music bought from places like Junodownload and Beatport, and they're all ID3-tagged using MP3Tag. I noticed, when making playlists in VLC, that for most files, the "Genre" information is missing.

According to MP3tag, the files utilize the ID3v3.2 container, and genre information is stored with value = $meta_sep(genre,\\) and field %genre%.

Cheers,

Tord

Can you try with VLC 3.0 ? We won't backport fixes in 2.2.8.

Hi!

I can confirm that the problem remains in 3.0.0 (x64).
