Frozen video output after update to 3.0.0 (Sharpen filter)

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Frozen video output after update to 3.0.0 (Sharpen filter)

Postby Iskelderon » 15 Feb 2018 00:37

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Previously I've always used a slight sharpen value to recover some fine details, but after upgrading to 3.0.0 videos start black and the two seem to be related.
During troubleshooting I discovered that unchecking the "sharpen" option causes the video stream to show up again, but the video stream freezes again when the option is checked.
Changing the slider value or using a different video file & type still leads to the same result.
Not sure if it's directly related to this filter or just something further up/down the stack, but it's obvious that something small must've slipped through the testing process.
For now, leaving it disabled works as a workaround, at the price of somewhat worse image results than prior to 3.0.0.

Encountered in VLC 3.0.0 on Win 10 x64, using an Nvidia GTX 680. Latest OS & driver updates have been applied.
