Amazon Fire 3.0.0 upadate?

Postby bradmyster » 12 Feb 2018 00:51

Does anyone out there know when Amazon will update their servers for VLC app for Fire from version 2.1.11 (June 2017) to the newer VLC version 3.0.0? I ask because I have serious issues with the VLC for Fire app trying to play videos from a network location, where video works but no sound is present. I have tried this version on (3) different Amazon Fire tablets, and (1) Amazon Fire stick TV with all the same issues. I do have VLC version 3.0.0 on my Android phone and Galaxy Tab, and do not have any issues with those playing videos with sound.

For Amazon FireTV you can update it manually...Just install the right apk of VLC.
First I used the app Downloader to get essential apk files on the FireTV. Before that you must allow installation from unknown sources in the settings of the FireTV.
For frequent transfers of apk files I can recommend total commander and the LAN Plugin. No root required.

On the Fire Tablet I installed the Google Play Store...with an instruction I found with Google. ;-)
