Hello,
I've been having this issue for a while and I feel like I have tried everything. I updated to 3.0 and am still having this issue.
Playing 4k movies even after adjusting VLC according to tutorials does not work as the movies freeze and crash VLC. With the 3.0 update, they freeze but I can still hear audio. Please advise.

Are you using Direct3d11 (Windows 8.1+) or Direct3d9 ? Did you set the hardware acceleration to automatic ?
