trying connecting to my mac on the local network

i've mac mini with vlc mac app version installed.
also i've iphone 7 latest ios version with vlc app - i dont know how can i connect from the app to my mac. there is any guide for this?

in the past it worked and i be able to watch videos from my iphone that are located on my mac mini.

pls help

Probably the best way is to enable File Sharing in the System Preferences of your Mac mini and to connect to it using SMB via VLC on your iPhone. For this to work, VLC does not need to be installed on your Mac mini as the File Sharing feature as well as its authentication are provided by the operating system.
