VLC freezes after long pause

Hi guys, thanks for VLC !

I often start playing a video and then pause it and check mail etc upon returning to the app or even if I just pause the video and leave it for a long time ( more than a few minutes ) I cannot resume playing by any means. I cannot hit the play button on screen as it does nothing , I have to go back to the list of of videos and click on the file again and then it’s resumes playing !

I am running iOS 11.2.5 public beta 7 and the latest version of vlc for iOS but this has been happening for a while !
