where is logging file located?

Postby Joejim » 22 Jan 2018 13:12

I am using VLC v2.2.1. When I tried to play a .mp4 file IO got this error.
VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of 'file:///C:/Downloads/dwHelper/Tennis.mp4' cannot be detected.
Have a look at the log for details.

So where is log file located?

I tried to set log file location. Tools/Preference/All/Logging, gave it a name, location, TEXT, Verbosity to 2. Closed VLC then try playing .mp4 file again.
I can't find log file where I set location.

I have the same question. I followed some online instructions for setting up a txt file and using advanced settings, but it didn't work at all. And I couldn't find it in the faq.
