Preferred Audio Device not saved permanently

Postby mcconnor » 25 Apr 2017 08:20

Hello folks, I hope you can help me with the setup of my favourite videoplayer.

My setup is as follows: PC - one screen for working - a second screen (flatscreen TV via HDMI) for media consuming...

No I set VideoLAN player to use the flat TV for audio in the Settings - Audio - Device (DirectX / my flat TV). After saving the option and restarting the player this works fine - audio is played via the flat TV.

But as soon as I restart the computer or wake it up from Standby/Hibernation the said setting is resetted to use the default DirectX device (which is not the flat TV). So I have to go over the configuration again to make it work. My wife and kids are overwhelmed by the settings - the cant do it and I think there must be a way to save this - fully working - setting permanently. But how? Can you help me please...

I have a similar problem to this unanswered post. I want my default audio to be 'audiolab 8200CD' (DAC), not 'default'. I find there is a clearly audible difference between the two.
So, how do we set our default audio device, and ensure that it loads next time we run the player?
