Problem with VLC for Windows library

Postby Exspextations » 18 Dec 2017 10:34

I have a problem with the VLC for Windows library under Windows 10 build 1709 - it fails to include albums from the music search folders.

I also have a problem with the library not updating after I change tag information - for example I have tracks of an album split across one or more entries in the library because tag information was incorrect. However, after correcting the tag information, the library fails to update to display correctly and simply shows the albums as before the correction was made. Many of my albums don't display the art wok correctly - I even have a number of double CDs with identical cover art where one album displays the cover art, but the second one does not - when I right click to change the art work, nothing happens - I have checked all the tags on the offending albums, but can't see anything wrong :(

How can I force the library to update - alternatively can I delete the library database and rebuild it with the correct data - if so where are the file(s) stored?

Please share one of your file so I can try to reproduce.
The app requires access to your picture and video folders on install so it should definitely have access.
tag information was incorrect
Yes, there are many issues with the medialibrary. Work on this part of the code is planned..
when I right click to change the art work
This is currently not possible.

You can try to reset the app data.
Go to Windows Settings -> Apps -> Search for VLC -> Click it -> Advanced Options -> Reset.
