Recording Ratio

Okay so really hoping someone can help me here.

I'm trying to set it up so that I can automatically change the recording ratio that VLC does batch screen shots at.

Specifically I have four drop box folders, named 12 frames, 24 frames, 240 frames and 720 frames.
When I drop a video into either one I'd like to open VLC and have it run the batch screen shot filter BUT at those Recording Ratios.

Launching VLC when a video file is dropped into the folder I'm currently doing using mac's Automator app.
But I stumble at changing the preferences. If anyone can think of a way to achieve this I would be truly truly grateful.
