Hello
I have some problems with my VLC player regarding renaming the files I want to play.
Some time ago I created video files from old DV tapes in Windows Movie Maker. I simply imported the files from the tape in the camera by wire to a project in WMM on my computer.
This project could e.g. be called "Video Project", but the files I later exported from there would e.g. be called "1992, Canada - Summer - Tape 1", and so on. All my video files have their own name which describe where and when they are filme. These names also appear under the "properties" of each file. However, when I put the files into VLC they will be called the project's name like "Video Project", instead of the individual files name, which makes it very hard to figure out which video is which, since I have 80 of them on the playlist.
Then I tried to change this in VLC by right clicking on each file and choosing "Media Information". In here I could change all the stuff I wanted, like the title, description, date, etc., and when I pressed "Save metadata" and closed the window the file name would be changed as well, which was perfect. HOWEVER, when I then saved the playlist and opened the programme again, all the files were named "Video Project" again. What do I do to keep the changes for each file? Please help!
Best regards
