Font size for features near bottom of screen

I switched to a new(er) laptop with a higher screen resolution. VLC Media Player installed just fine. While the videos fill the screen nicely, the font size for the features near the bottom left corner of the screen (Play/Pause, Frame-by-Frame, Take a Snapshot, to name a few) appear to have shrunken. Is there any way to increase the font size for these feature buttons?
