I have some mp4 files which play perfectly from an external hard drive (via USB) but if I put those files onto an SD card some (not all) give a 'cant find codec' error.
I'm sure some of them played from the card a few days ago that don't play now. I converted one to .wmv and I get the same error.
The files were generated from movie maker as mp4s and some were reduced in size to smaller mp4s using digiarty's WinX HD video converter deluxe.
Could my card have become faulty? If so, why would that affect VLC finding a codec?
Mystified.

Can you play files from the SD card on another device ?
If not, then the SD card might be damaged.
If not, then the SD card might be damaged.
