Empty Media Library after Updating to iOS 10.3

I've recently updated my iPhone 7 Plus to iOS 10.3 and now any new files I add to VLC via iTunes is no longer visible in VLC. Whatever files I had in there prior to the update remained there but any files I added to it cannot be seen on the phone. I've restarted the app as well as the phone but issue persisted. I've tried deleting the VLC app and re-download and now it just says "Empty Media Library" while iTunes will show there are all the files I've added to it. My VLC version is 2.7.8 which appears has not been updated since June 2016..

I've heard iOS 10.3 has changed the filing system on the device, could this have anything to do with that?

Please share the name of the files (also by PM if you prefer) so I can make sure that my fix works

Apparently, in the item name,
Regardless of hiragana katakana, it seems that it disappears when including voiced letters (voiced sound points) (half voiced spots).
If you change the item name, you can use it, it is very inconvenient.

This error 'media library empty' does not appear to be unique to 'VLC for Mobile', I have the same error on another video player application (ios 10.3.3, iPhone 7).
