Adding smb shares as favorites etc

Hi,

I am trying to setup vlc for my kids on their iOS devices (primarily their iPad Air), but I cannot find a way to add smb shares as bookmarks/favorites/links/whatever-you-may-call-it. We have our media library on our NAS and I would want them to be able to get right into the 'kids movies' share, and not having to click all the way through the file system to reach their videos. Is there a way to do this? Any best practices? I mean, it is ok if they have to connect to the server upon app startup, of course, but why can't they connect right to the preferred share?

Maybe I am just missing something obvious. In any case, all help appreciated.
