OSX 10.11.6 El Capitan VLC 2.2.4 Weatherwax (Intel 64bit)

Hi all!
When playing MPEG-4 movie the bottom 1/4 of the movie is all distorted and shakey they play fine on quicktime
i have the 27inch imac any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I don't know what happened to VLC. It used to be such a great app.

2.2.4 for MacOS is the worst version yet. It can't seem to play anything without being sluggish or plain stopping. No errors come up or anything, it just can't play videos cleanly anymore.
FWD and RWD used to be quick and flawless. Now if I try to advance the timeline, the video just stops and it never starts again, yet I can hear the audio still going.

I have had no choice but to... ahem... go back to QuickTime. QT has no problems what so ever playing the same videos VLC chokes on .

Very sad to see VLC die.
