Are people actually using this? Couldn't you do the same (menus/subtitles) with Matroska?

But there is no hardware player for Matroska and for DivX there are a lot of hardware devices.

Now Dr DivX is Open Source and can create DivX Media Format:

And soon will be a Linux version of Dr DivX so i think DivX Media Format became more a more popular.
