As you can see here, the way to do this in Linux is to use DVDFab through Wine: https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=174404 . Unfortunately, I continue to run into the error
Code: Select all
err:d3d:wined3d_adapter_init Failed to get a GL context for adapter 0x1a1b8108
If I expected to play more than one disc I would pay for makemkv, but as a matter of principle I would like to get this fairly old Bluray disc working and post the key for everyone to use. Thanks.
edit: I was able to extract the key. I bypassed the previous wine error by instead installing DVDFab 9 instead of 10.
Code: Select all
0x6E5E2342A0BC5470C57D442A11FB9E6C4E400962 = STAR TREK TNG S1 D5 | V | 0x2884653CB7A9888A94AFEDBF2A908E39 | M | 0xDCE3075822CCE6EB5482F313D863E7B3 | I | 0x7893C3CFF3DA6FC2AEFAE0A891ADB58A ; vukextract v0.1.8
Unfortunately, VLC 3.0.0 now alternates between different errors:
Code: Select all
Bluray error: this disc seems to be encrypted
Code: Select all
Bluray error: this disc seems to be corrupted
Code: Select all
(crash with the following:)
aacs.c:235: Unable decrypt unit (AACS)!
bluray.c:689: Skipping broken unit at 0
[00007f09b8000f48] libbluray demux error: bluray: read error
Is using makemkv the only way to play back this now-classic bluray disc?
edit 2:
None of my TNG Season 1 discs work despite being referenced in the config file.
