I'm running Windows 10. I am trying to play a DVD and I get an error message that reads: Unable to open the MRL dvd:///D:/. What does this mean and how can I play the DVD?

What type of DVD is this?
Is it an original copy of something or a copied disc?
Have you tried launching the DVD with a different media player at all?

This is a factory DVD, a how-to for a project. I have no other media player. Windows 10 does not have one.

What is the region of your DVD drive and the DVD you are playing?
Can you try VLC 2.1.5, by any chance?

Good evening, I have just reinstalled Windows 10 Home. The version is 1703. I've burned a DVD containing a sequence of photos organized with the Magix Fotostory De Luxe program. When I insert the Dvd into the player (Asus DVD RAM GHC1N), the automatic video reading does not start, and if I try to start the playback I get the following error: "The input can not be opened: VLC can not open the MRL 'dvd: /// F: \'. Check the log for the details. "Only if I go to search the files in the Stream folder I can play the movie which, anyway, sometimes has some" jam ".I know that the DVD (TDK) is new. Can you try VLC 2.1.5, by any chance?
I just downloaded VLC and I am receiving the same error with a store-bought DVD.
DVD device is fine, DVD drivers are up to date.
Region of DVD and device are good
Windows 10 up to date.
