Multiple streams in playlist?

Postby kupuna » 06 Feb 2017 00:19

I'm new at this. I want to assemble three or four specific streaming FM stations in a way that I can easily return to them and click on my choice to play. I pasted one station url into the Playlist window. That worked fine. Getting cocky, I pasted a second station into the same window. Now they play over each other and I can't start/close/choose them individually.
What am I doing wrong? Are streaming playlists different than "fixed" ones like iTunes?
Please help me get pointed in the right direction. Thanks very much.

You can use an .M3U file and format:

Code: Select all

#EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1,Radio1 http://www.domain.com/live.mp3 #EXTINF:-1,Radio2 http://www.domain2.com/stream #EXTINF:-1,Radio3 http://www.domain3.com/master.pls

Thank you. I'm new to this-and not much of a programmer. I recognize the code above to the extent that it creates three different radio streams for me to plug in my URLs , but I'd like to know the differences between "live.mp3" "stream" and master.pls" I do not know how to combine them into an "EXTM3U" file and apply the file to VLC. Could you please help me along a bit more? Sorry to bother you with this.

They are just example URLs.
Make a list like this one, replace the example URLs with your own ones and save it as an .M3U file (e.g. list.m3u) then open it with VLC and you'll be able to switch streams from the playlist.

My first tries at uploading an image:ImageImage[/img]
It looks like just a bit of correction will make this work and we will both be done with it. What's wrong at this point?

In preview, this looks like a mess of code. I'm going to submit it in the hope that the referenced images will come through. Perhaps if they don't you could suggest the problem.

Try it with valid radio URLs like this:

Code: Select all

#EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1,KulturFigaro http://c22033-l.i.core.cdn.streamfarm.net/22007mdrfigaro/live/3087mdr_figaro/live_de_128.mp3 #EXTINF:-1,MDR Klassik http://c22033-l.i.core.cdn.streamfarm.net/22008mdrklassik/live/3087mdrklassik/live_de_128.mp3 #EXTINF:-1,WDR 2 http://wdr-mp3-m-wdr2-koeln.akacast.akamaistream.net/7/812/119456/v1/gnl.akacast.akamaistream.net/wdr-mp3-m-wdr2-koeln

Thank you Lotesdelere and Kodela. You finally dragged me through the learning necessary to accomplish my goal. My biggest problem was the variation in radio URLs. It took a lot of trial and error, but finally it worked. I appreciate what you did.
