Recording duration

Hello, is there a way of setting recording duration ahead of time (for audio streaming), or do I have to stop recording manually?

Open the "Show more options" option in the "Open Media" dialog.
The entry in "Edit Options" after a space and a double point add the runtime in seconds.
For example: " :network-caching = 1000 :run-time = 3600" for an hour.

sorry kodela but this doesnt seem to work - here is what i do:
Media -> Open Network stream -> show more options -> I add :run-time = 120 to test over 2 min -> Play
then streaming never stops, whether recording or not...
am i doing something wrong?

add "run-time=120"

The forum editor inserted two spaces before and after the "=" character. I'm sorry.

It must work. For me under Windows 10 with VLC 2.2.4 works it also.
