Is there a hard drive cap limit Xbox One

I have a WD passport 4tb with about 3.4tb of movies on it the media player only shows half the movies but on the VLC app it shows "there is nothing to see here" if I plug up my WD passport 2tb everything works fine so is there a cap limit on how big the hard drive must be
