UpnP details

Postby uho » 06 Jan 2017 10:03

Hello all,

I know, there are quite a few posts about UPNP, but non of them deals with a problem similar to mine:
I run SUSE-Leap42.2 and VLC 2.2.4 (from packman). My UPNP device (PANASONIC BCT720) is recognized, but the structure of that device is never shown. Indeed VLC sometimes "crashes", producing 100% load and does not respond. In the beginning I considered an issue with the firewall, but switching the firewall off doesn't change much (another device, which usually does not pass the firewall (on purpose) is seen, but the "crush" even prevents searching for the BCT720).

Everything worked fine before I upgraded my system.

What can I do? Is there any idea?

Best Regards,
Uwe

Finally I solved it.
Nothing to do with VLC (except a misleading error message, may be).
The BCT720 refused to talk to the updated computer. Changing the settings there, everything works fine again..

Hence, SOLVED
