Network Streaming to download

I have this url, reportage called " Road"
i would like to download it
with "open network" and putting this url ( https://vod.stream.vrt.be/mediazone_can ... ylist.m3u8 ) i can play it in VLC
but i dont have a clue how to down load it. I use mac and VLC 2.2.4.

You cannot easily download it by downloading the file, as its a playlist for a stream.

You can download m3u8 streams by opening the menu "Media">"Convert/Save". Then open the tab "Network" and enter the URL. Click on "Convert/Save" and enter a destination file. Hit "Start'.

... But to be honest, you'll find it's a lot easier using "youtube-dl". Google it.

Is it now possible to view torrent files as streaming video in VLC ?

That seems to work for saving ts files, but I was hoping to save as mp4 and when I try to choose MPEG 4 in settings, I get an mp4 file, but it only has audio with no video. Is there a way to do this?
