Feature suggestion for VLMa

Postby TechLord » 22 Dec 2016 01:37

Hello.

I hope, that it is OK to post the following thread in this forum. viewforum.php?f=30 (the official VLMa-forums) are closed (locked) for new threads and posts.

A feature suggestion I had a year ago, is: Security Delays.

I am not sure, whether that feature suggestion has already been implemented by now, but I would just like to mention that. One year ago, I could not find anything about security broadcasting delays on VLMa.

If something goes wrong during the broadcast, you can still abort it due to the security delay, because it actually buffers the last [specified time] of your stream. If the security delay is 10000 milleseconds (ten seconds), you have ten seconds to cancel the live-broadcast, if something accidentally happens, that the viewers should not see. Or you could pause your broadcast, while the stream is still running from the buffer. I also suggest a buffer video speed feature. I could decrease it to 0.9×. That would mean: for ten minutes of live streaming, I will get one minute of security delay to spare.

I hope my feature suggestion to be considered as useful. All the best.

It should be done in VLC, if I'm not mistaken.
