Video corrugated effect on movement

If I playback any video (from DVD or off the hard drive) any movement in the scene is distorted with a corrugated effect, any still scenes are fine, can anyone help please.

Sounds like your video is interlaced.
You must use one of the deinterlace modes from the Video menu.

Thank you for the suggestion, this worked fine, as a matter of interest which mode of deinterlace would you recommend.

BOB and Yadif are supposed to give the best image but they will also use more resources, especially CPU.
