Headphone Controls not working correctly

Hey guys got a small problem. Im on a galaxy note 4 and almost all my headset controls are fine vol+/- play pause etc except for skipping songs. Normally a double click on play pause skips through to the next song and a triple click is previous but alas thats not working

I have exactly the same problem with VLC 1.7.2 on a Oneplus2 with oneplus silverbullets earphone (android 5.1.1 (oxygen2.1.2)).
I think the problem happened after the 2 Last VLC Update for android.
Earphone work properly with other audio player, Google playmusic or Black player,...
Any ideas ?

Hi,
I got exactly the same problem: Up to 1.7.0 I had my one button remote wired headphones working on a Moto G 2nd.
Starting from VLC 1.7.0 the possibility to skip forward and backwards disappeared (I never manage controlling volume but it was no issue to me).
I tried other headphones makes and on a Philips Citiscape SHE7055BK/00 the play/pause works, not the skip forward/backwards; I tried also a Senheiser CX275s, with exactly the same results.

Using other androids apps like Bubble UpnP, the remote button of both headphones works perfectly: play/pause, skip forward, skip backwards all working.

Is there any change that reducing the amount of authorizations requested by VLC 1.7.x has been taking away the capability of controlling the player through the headphones remote?

Can anyone help?

as said, I filed the bug #16348, here, https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/16384

I tested with a number of nightlies as directed by the person who took charge for the bug but there was no positive result.

In the end the reply was that: "Unfortunately, the new framework from Google does not allow that."

I said thanks and asked to have the bug closed, no resolution.

I guess I'll live with it.

first of all a big thank you.

Then, I tested the with a Nightly build I downloaded Tuesday evening and I used the Jay headset application: it is all working OK, just going backwards one track is tricky.
To go backwards you need to click three time extremely (truly) fast; if you fail being very very fast with the triple click you will only get back to the beginning of the song you are listening and not to the that played before.
I tried using the Jay headset app click delays settings to the maximum (800 msec) but t had no effect.

Also volume up and down is working but, as long as they are still programmed on the one/two/three clicks combinations.

For me it's OK for the next official release of VLC:

For now this delay is 500ms to trigger a double-click, it's actually a bit short

I'll bump it to 800ms, you can try it tomorrow.
