VLC 2.2.1 (Debian) and VLC 3.0.0 (compiled) lack audio with Everest and Mad Max: Fury Road Blurays

Postby Jason_25 » 05 Nov 2016 18:48

With 3.0.0 the error I get is:

Code: Select all

core audio output error: module not functional core decoder error: failed to create audio output
The menus and previews playback fine with functional sound.

With 2.2.1 there are no sound related errors at all but sound does not play. It also does not play the menus or previews.

All other bluray discs play sound fine.

Is there anything I can do on my end?

Looks like missing audio output plugin, but can't really say without verbose logs.

I have a log here from VLC 3.0.0. I was forced to take a lot of time to remove lines which were bloating up the file beyond 60000 characters:
