play .mp4 via http

Postby georgeofthejungle » 14 Oct 2016 13:31

Hello,

I have the url of an .mp4 video but I can't for the life of me find a way to play it in VLC.

The video plays fine in any browser, I copy the url and paste it into the "Open Network..." dialog, then get an error "your input can't be opened" "VLC is unable to open the MRL [http://path.mp4]"

Sure, I'm doing something wrong, but what?

Never mind, I had configured a proxy for http:// and completely forgot it. Sorry for the noise. And thanks for the quick response.
