Minimum system config

Postby fred41 » 13 Aug 2007 15:49

Hi
this has probably been covered before, but I couldn't find it
What is the minimum recommended CPU / System config to play .avi file? I will buy 400 mhz celeron and 128 ram laptop, only for .avi playing, is it enough?
thanks

That depends on the AVI file - video dimensions, codecs etc.

The spec. you suggest should work fine for most video files in VLC - however if you want to play HD video then playback may be slow. I used to have a PC with a 500MHz P3 processor and 256MB RAM - didn't have any trouble playing AVI files. I cannot say for sure that the laptop will playback video smoothly though, but I see little reason why it would not.

Arite.
