VLC won't skip to next item in playlist when first item ends

Ever since I can remember, VLC would play through the items in a playlist one after another and then just stop once it played all the items. Now It simply decided to stop skipping. I'll add say 3 videos to a playlist, It'll finish playing the first video and then stop. I have to manually play each following video. The "repeat all/ repeat one" bottom at the bottom doesn't seem to be doing anything. The video just stops once its done playing and won't skip to the next one. I tried going into the advanced playlist setting, ticking the "Repeat all" options also doesn't seem to be doing anything. Any ideas???

Delete VLC's preferences to fix. Just remove a folder called either "VLC" or "org.videolan.vlc" in ~/Library/Preferences.

UNCHECK "Tools | Preferences | Show settings: All | Playlist | Play and pause"

Deleting the preferences used to work. 2022-08 it doesn't fix the problem. I have tried all the different playlist play settings.
