Downloading video from FetchTV

In the "Local Network" area of VLC iOS I can see and play my videos stored on my FetchTV STB (Australian). Brilliant! But when I try to download a video, the download usually completes (but sometimes fails with a 'connection lost' error) but there is no video visible in the Downloads screen! Where is it? Has anyone had success getting video off a FetchTV in this way (there is no other way that I am aware of).

Ouch. What's your VLC-iOS version? Are those files visible if you plug your device to a Mac or PC and check with iTunes? (see for documentation on how to do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4094)
