VLC for iOS 2.7.8 (278.1) Subtitle Error

Postby rphilipz » 10 Jul 2016 18:25

VLC for iOS will play a video file as long as no subtitle file is in the same directory as the video file. Place a .srt file in a subdirectory to your video file - the video will play fine. Move the .srt file into the same directory as the video file (both files have the same name, but different extensions i.e .mp4 and .srt) the video will not play.

This has been confirmed with VLC for iOS 2.7.8 (278.1) on an iPad mini and iPhone.

Videos are being accessed from a WD My Cloud on my local network.

I think this is a new bug introduced with this new VLC version.

Both iOS devices are running OS 8.4.1 (12H321) - the iPad mini is a first generation unit and the iPhone is a 5s.
