Youtube Live stream Problems

Hello! i have i problem when i want to view youtube live streams in VLC
When i enter the url in the "open network stream" box and press play, i will only get a still frame of the stream and no audio, i've experienced it on windows and linux so that is why i put it in this section. I dont experience it when i play normal videos though... Does it have to do with my hardware or is it because vlc just can't handle it or has bugs? :(

The reason i want to use vlc for this is because i follow a bird nest stream and i want a way to record/screenshot it.
Version 2.2.2 Weatherwax.

I suspect this has to do with YouTube and copyright issue. YouTube allows you to download certain files. But not others. Because you can make copies with VLC record, YouTube may be restricting download if content is copy restricted. YouTube content providers choose whether to allow download copies.

Same problem. Did someone find a solution ?
When try http://www.h3xed.com/blogmedia/youtube-info.php on a youtube livestream I get a error otherwise it provides all the streams available for a given youtube video.
I suspect VLC to use the same reverse engineering hack than h3xed....
