Sound drops sometimes

Postby aurimus » 22 Apr 2016 14:54

Moving seek slider to another point in time makes the sound mute (disappear) sometimes. I get it back by moving the slider a few more times. The heavier the video on decoding - the more often it happens.

Ubuntu 14.04, Samsung 900x3c

Does the problem still occur with VLC 2.2.2 ?

I came here to ask about this issue. I find sound often cuts out both when seeking, and when a network stream pauses to buffer (or when other processes monopolize the disk and cause vlc to have to wait for video data). I run the latest version on Ubuntu, and this has been happening for years over many versions, and across many different hardware configurations.

Is this a known (ie, filed) bug, and is there a workaround? Thanks.

I upgraded Ubuntu to get 2.2.2, and after brief testing it seems fixed on at least one stream that was glitching badly on 2.2.1. I'll post back if I have any more issues. Thanks.
