cant install ffmpeg to get vlc 0.8.2 on fedora 4

Hi,

I'm a newbie at linux and am trying to get vlc 0.8.2. it requires ffmpeg which requires liblmlib2.so.1 . I have spent 4 hours clearing the rest of the dependencies but this file does not seem to exist! any help would be appreciated.
